This has been a chaotic week for both MindStudio and the AI space as a whole.

Between OpenAI’s new text-to-video model Sora, Google releasing a preview of a 1mln context window in Gemini 1.5, and MindStudio releasing the beta of the most powerful Zapier integration so far, you’re in for a treat.

🗞️ Industry news

1. OpenAI releases Sora: shockingly realistic text-to-video model
   Sora marks a new paradigm in text-to-video. Up until now, top models like Invideo AI and Pika AI were decent enough to look cool, but nowhere near ready for production use cases. There was little to no point in even using them.

   Over the weekend, OpenAI shocked the world with hyper realistic videos. These go from fun projects like cute golden retrievers playing in the snow to drone footage of a hill you could use in your next YouTube video.
   

2. Gemini 1.5: Next-Generation 1m Context Length
   Google has been a bit of an underdog, and even their latest Gemini Ultra announcement wasn’t as groundbreaking as many at the company expected.

   With a staggering 1m context size, Gemini 1.5 can nearly process the entire collection of Harry Potter and find a specific paragraph.

   Google is working on increasing the context length even further, and deployed some quality of life improvements.
   

3. AI expert Andrej Karpathy confirms he’s left OpenAI
   As first reported by The Information, which says he’d been working on an AI assistant.

   Karpathy’s mentioned he’s going to work on his own projects for a while. This might include his YouTube channel, where he recently posted one of the best videos for beginners to learn more about how LLMs actually work.
   

🔥 Product Updates

Last week, we introduced several exciting features to further improve the platform:

• Path Debugger: learn exactly what’s wrong with your AI or why step 3 is taking so long. The path debugger will tell you how much time every process takes to respond and highlight failures in the sequence;

• Refreshed UI: new icons, better alignment, and a more streamlined workflow editing experience in the canvas;

• Zapier Beta: MindStudio can now fully integrate in your Zapier workflows, plus run & retrieve MindStudio Workflows as part of your zaps. We’re currently testing it and it should be live for all users in 3 weeks.

As we move forward, our team is dedicated to delivering even more enhancements and functionalities. Next week, we’ll focusing on:

• Moving the Zapier Integration forward & start integrating with alternatives such as Make.com, Zoho Flow, and more. We want MindStudio to serve as the backend for your UI and workflows wherever you’re working in right now;

• Including Gemini 1.5 as soon as it becomes available. MindStudio added support for Claude 2.1 fifteen minutes after the official release, and we can’t wait to add support for a 1m context length model ASAP;

• Adding the ability to limit usage. Our new pricing plans are coming soon, and with it the ability to limit how many tokens your users can spend on solving tasks. This helps you better understand and manage pricing, and offer affordable and reliable solutions to your customers.
